Colin has been seen on a golf course, but his first love, other than caravans is motor sport. He started karting at 12 years old and progressed to rallying, where he took part in numerous local and national events, with moderate success. He was an active member of the Round Table during his eligible years and participated in many fund raising and charity events for teh local community. Tourism and the Leisure Industry also feature prominently in Colin's working life. He is a committee member for the local tourist board and an area representitive for Visit Scotland. Colin has been a member of the National Caravan Council for 25 years and for three years was Chairman of the Scottish Division. A keen supporter of The Beltane Festival, the local agricultural show and of course the Highland Games. Colin says it is a great honour that he is Chieftain and is looking forward to fulfilling his duties on the day. Colin will be accompanied by his wife, Loraine.

A Borderer by birth, Colin was educated at George Heriots and Napier College in edinburgh. following a stint in the hotel trade he joined the family business at Crossburn Caravans in 1983. fifteen years later he took over the running of the business from his parents. Colin is married to Loraine and they have one son who is now involved in the family business.
